Which funder boxes might this file fit?
Owners and brokers: see how funder boxes read a file.
A funder box is the set of rules a funder uses to decide which files it will read. This checker tests a file against five example boxes, rule by rule. It shows which example boxes list criteria the file meets, and which single rule leaves each other box out. Real offers are subject to funder underwriting.

About the example boxes
The five boxes below are made up. They are not real funders, and their numbers are not typical of the market. They exist so you can see how a box works: a file has to meet every rule, and one miss is enough to leave a box out.
| Example box | Minimum time in business | Minimum monthly true deposits | Most open advances | Most NSF days | Excluded industries | Amount range | Minimum credit |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Example box A | 24 months | $40,000 | 0 | 2 | None | $25,000 to $500,000 | 650 |
| Example box B | 12 months | $20,000 | 1 | 4 | Trucking and transport | $10,000 to $250,000 | 575 |
| Example box C | 6 months | $10,000 | 3 | 8 | None | $5,000 to $100,000 | Not set |
| Example box D | 12 months | $50,000 | 2 | 5 | Construction trades, Auto sales | $50,000 to $1,000,000 | 600 |
| Example box E | 36 months | $100,000 | 1 | 3 | None | $100,000 to $2,000,000 | 680 |
Real boxes are private to each funder. They also use rules this checker leaves out, such as state, paper grade and how deposits trend.
What you enter
Every box is your input, taken from your own statements and records.
- Time in business: months since the business started taking revenue.
- Monthly true deposits: revenue deposits only, without transfers, funding proceeds or refunds.
- Open advances: how many advances you are paying now.
- NSF days last month: days your account returned an item for non-sufficient funds.
- Industry and amount requested.
- Credit range: optional, and self-reported. Leave it blank if you prefer.
How the check works
For each box, the checker tests every rule on its own.
- Time in business must be at least the box minimum.
- Monthly true deposits must be at least the box minimum.
- Open advances must be no more than the box maximum.
- NSF days must be no more than the box maximum.
- The industry must not be on the box's excluded list.
- The amount requested must sit within the box range.
- If the box sets a credit minimum and you gave a range, the low end of your range must be at least that minimum. If you left credit blank, that rule is shown as not checked.
A box is a fit only when every rule passes. For the rest, the checker lists each rule the file misses.
Worked example
Round numbers picked so the math is easy to check by hand. They are not typical terms and not a quote. A retail file: 18 months in business, $45,000 in monthly true deposits, 1 open advance, 3 NSF days last month, $60,000 requested, credit left blank.
- Example box A: misses time in business under 24 months; takes first position only (no open advances); more than 2 NSF days (credit not checked)
- Example box B: meets every rule checked (credit not checked)
- Example box C: meets every rule checked
- Example box D: misses monthly true deposits under $50,000 (credit not checked)
- Example box E: misses time in business under 36 months; monthly true deposits under $100,000; amount outside $100,000 to $2,000,000 (credit not checked)

FAQ
Does a fit mean I will get an offer?
No. A fit only means the file meets the rules written in that example box. Each real funder reads the full file and makes its own decision.
Why is one missed rule enough to leave a box out?
Box rules are hard limits. A funder that funds only first positions will not read a file with an open advance, however strong the rest is.
Does the checker pull my credit?
Credit is an optional range you pick yourself. The checker runs in your browser, and nothing is stored or sent.
How is this different from applying?
The checker only shows how boxes work. When you apply, a person on the desk reads your file and sends it only to real funders whose box fits.
